Much like the Storied cry, “The British are coming!” The Millennial generation is coming to the workforce and, specifically, the meetings and events industry. In an effort to compile hard data on the preferred meeting and communication styles of these new workers, George G. Fenich, Ph.D. of East Carolina University; Sheila Scott-Halsell, PH.D., of Oklahoma State University; and Godwin-Charles Ogbeide, Ph.D., of the University of Arkansas collaborated on a grant study for the Education Foundation of the Professional Convention Management Association.
The first of its kind, the project, “What the Millennial Generation Prefers in their Meetings, Conventions and Events,” asked 2,000 participants a series of 78 questions. Results were broken down into three age groups (18-20, 21-24 and 25-30) and provided overall averaged results. The findings may surprise you!
