Travel Promotion Act Passes Senate

The "Travel Promotion Act" was passed this week by the U.S. Senate to promote overseas tourism to the United States.

"The United States Senate today took a giant step toward regaining America's position as the premier travel destination and strengthening our struggling economy," said Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. "If enacted into law the program is estimated to produce 40,000 jobs, generate $4 billion in new consumer spending while reducing the federal budget deficit by $425 million.
