The Pennsylvania Meetings + Events second annual Best of 2017 readers’ choice awards were held at The Fuge in Warminster on Oct. 4. The event was attended by 85 industry insiders who anxiously awaited the announcement of each category’s winners, selected online by the readers of the magazine. The Fuge, home to the centrifuge where the astronauts trained to adjust to the G-force of the rockets, played up its otherworldly theme with blue-and-white lighting and space-themed accents, including a bar tucked inside the base of the centrifuge.

The annual event raises funds for a food bank in style.

Guests came together for two important reasons at Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center last October: to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the 007 James Bond franchise and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The first annual “En Noir: A Casino Royale Masquerade” event was designed to benefit Imerman Angels, a one-onone cancer support community that pairs a cancer fighter, survivor or caregiver with someone who has fought and survived the same type of cancer.

The perfect venue choice sets the stage for a successful meeting or event. It can entice guests to attend, provide new surroundings that provoke new thought processes and serve up an atmosphere that embraces the theme and objective of an event. That’s a lot to ask from four walls, a fl oor and a ceiling, which is why a new web platform called RoomLeopard is helping planners fi nd function spaces with a lot more character—or as RoomLeopard’s tag line goes, “the best spots in town.”
