The Hotel Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas is undergoing a $30 million renovation of all 195 guest rooms and 31 suites, guest corridors and elevators as well as the hotel lobby and bar. The project launched in spring 2017 and is expected to be complete in spring 2018.

“Embarking on a design renovation for a hotel with renowned presence and pedigree requires a commitment to honor the heritage, yet still create an aesthetic for the next generation,” says Andrea Waldrop, vice president of Waldrop + Nichols Studio. “Every design environment created provides an original platform that stirs a guest to engage and embrace the essence of the interior.” 

Some of the project details include new bathrooms, vanity areas and color palettes for guest rooms. Upgrading of the hotel’s unique curved corridors and elevators with French-inspired textural wall panels, walnut millwork and glass sconces. The hotel lobby and Beau’s—the main lobby bar and lounge—have been enhanced with elegant furnishings and the addition of bar seating. 

The Hotel Crescent Court offers a number of dinning outlets including Moxie’s Grill & Bar, East Hampton Sandwich Shop, Starbuck’s, The Capital Grille, Nobu and The Conservatory, a glass-enclosed breakfast and lunch spot overlooking courtyard gardens. Additional hotel amenities include the Spa and Fitness Center at Crescent featuring 16 treatment rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and 17 event rooms encompassing more than 23,300 square feet flexible space.

The hotel is located within a short walk of numerous retail and entertainment venues and situated amid the Dallas Arts District which features the Nasher Sculpture Center, Klyde Warren Park, The Dallas Opera, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Collection of Asian Art, AT&T’s Performing Arts Center and the Dallas Theater Center.

The renovation project follows the acquisition of the property by Crescent Real Estate LLC and return to its original name. “Hotel Crescent Court has played a critical role in Dallas’ dynamic culture for three decades, always striving to be the face of unparalleled service,” says John Goff, chairman of Crescent Real Estate LLC. “This $30 million investment has been carefully designed to elevate the hotel to an even greater level of style, enriching the experiences of today’s discerning travelers.”

More good news for meetings and events continues to pour out of the Gerald R. Ford International (GFIA) Airport.

The airport reported an almost 6 percent increase in passengers—2,811,622 total in 2017—flying and in out of the Grand Rapids facility. That record established the best year in the airport’s 54-year history, and marked the fifth straight year of record-setting growth.

The airport saw growth in 11 of 12 months during 2017, and experienced 53 months of growth over a 60-month period.
