    POSTED January 31, 2018

The Houston Stampede Event Center (HSEC), located on more than 30 acres just minutes from downtown Houston, provides guests with a total Texas experience. The 35,000-square-foot venue was designed and decorated to reflect the culture of the Lone Star state. “People are fascinated by Texas’ western culture,” says Rob Ferdows, HSEC president. “At Houston Stampede Event Center, with our professionally designed western décor and Texas-style entertainment and activities, the guests become immersed in the Total Texas Experience!"

The event center is a full-service indoor and outdoor venue providing one-of-a-kind experiences for a variety of events including weddings, receptions, conventions, team building exercises, product launches, trade shows, client or employee appreciation celebrations and more. The venue features two floors of interior event space which can accommodate groups of up to 4,000 guests indoors and outdoor space for up to 15,000 people. Houston Stampede offers turn-key event planning with full-service catering and beverage service, audio/visual services, entertainment and activities.

The menu at HSEC ranges from steaks to smoked meats and crawfish boils to street tacos, served from the venue’s very own taco truck. The event center boasts one of the city’s largest hardwood dance floors, more than 30 LED monitors and an 18-foot LED screen which can be used for customized branding or advertising during each event. A few of the activities and amenities available to groups include DJ’s, live bands, karaoke, line dance lessons, photo booths, cigar rolling, pool tables, shuffleboard, darts, casino games, a mechanical bull, armadillo racing and live Texas longhorns.

Recently HSEC launched a new website featuring a virtual tour, photo gallery and multiple event package options. The event center provides a parking lot with more than 3,000 paved parking spaces and is located within 20 minutes of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport and roughly 25 minutes from the George R. Brown Convention Center. “HSEC makes organizing events easy and fun,” says Ferdows. “We didn’t invent fun, we just perfected it!”

Sylvia Shum of E-Trade, a New York-based financial services company, started recommending the HSEC to corporate event planner friends after recently hosting an event at the venue. “Our clients enjoyed a truly memorable experience with mechanical bull rides, line dancing instruction, live country music and a big dance party,” says Shum.

Centrally located in Illinois, about a two and half hour drive from Chicago, the city of Peoria has many exciting developments happening this year. Here are three to put on your radar.

1. The rustic-themed Bearded Owl Brewing opened in January with a variety of unfiltered beers ranging from stouts to India pale ales to sours, using locally grown ingredients wherever possible. While it doesn’t have designated event space, the brewery makes for a good post-meeting gathering spot for a round of beers and various homemade soft pretzels.
