TRYP by Wyndham, Wyndham Hotel Group’s urban lifestyle brand, will be moving to the neighborhood Money Magazine recently named “America’s Coolest,” Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville. After TRYP by Wyndham hotels renovates a former school building to showcase the creative spirit that the hotel and neighborhood share. The hotel will infuse art and culture to celebrate the spirit of the urban traveler.

“As part of the Pittsburgh and Lawrenceville communities, we know how special this city is and wanted the right opportunity to welcome travelers through the eyes of locals,” said Josh Aderholt, principal at the Century Group. “As long-time partners with Wyndham, we’ve been looking for the perfect opportunity to launch a lifestyle brand and knew that TRYP by Wyndham, backed by the support of a hospitality giant and our local expertise, would thrive among the distinct culture in Lawrenceville.”

The thriving art and design scene emerging from Lawrenceville makes it a strategic destination for the trendsetting TRYP by Wyndham brand. Guest will be able to experience this trendy yet under-the-radar neighborhood before everyone else. Building on the unique space and central location, the hotel’s design will add to the community’s scene by incorporating the work of local artists and designers. A street-level restaurant and rooftop patio dining will feature dishes that were created through collaborations with local chefs.

“Lawrenceville is one of the country’s best kept secrets: a vivacious district of Pittsburgh dripping with its own take on art, culture, food - and a whole network of breweries,” said Kate Ashton, brand senior vice president, TRYP by Wyndham. “We hand-picked it as the next stop for TRYP as we expand into up-and-coming destinations travelers want to uncover. Thanks to our strong relationship with Century Group, we have no doubt this hotel will deliver the insider’s experience of Lawrenceville for inquisitive travelers.”

The hotel is expected to open in early 2019 and will be the fifth U.S. location for TRYP by Wyndham, which recently opened locations in College Station, Texas; St. Augustine, Fla.; Xi'An, China; and Dubai, UAE - the brand's largest at 650 rooms. As with all their hotels, an addition of 2,000 square feet of meeting and event space will make the property business-friendly as well. 

Greater Fort Lauderdale will play host to the first-ever Pride of the Americas Festival, scheduled to take place in 2020. The festival was recently announced at the International Gay & Lesbian Travel (IGLTA) annual conference in Toronto, will be hosted by Pride of Fort Lauderdale and will be presented by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The family-focused, Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Wisconsin Dells in 1997. Over the next two decades, it slowly expanded with more properties around the Midwest, moving into the Northeast, South, West and Canada. And this summer, the greater Chicago area will get its first resort from the brand.
