• New Venue Spotlight: Theater on the Lake Provides Lakeside Luxury

    After falling under disrepair for years, Theater on the Lake has emerged from renovations as a brand-new indoor-outdoor venue just in time for summer events.

Come summer, the hottest new outdoor venue in town is Theater on the Lake. This newly renovated, multimillion dollar venue is available to host parties, social gatherings, and corporate outings for groups of up to 1,500 guests. The theater’s 3,500-square-foot upscale tavern, The Lakefront Restaurant, offers a seasonal Midwestern menu, and boasts beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. The theater itself can seat up to 250 people. “Our full open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows, and incredible city and lakefront views make Theater on the Lake an ideal venue for hosting intimate or large-scale events,” says John Wrenn, president of Lakefront Hospitality Group. 

More good news for meetings and events continues to pour out of the Gerald R. Ford International (GFIA) Airport.

The airport reported an almost 6 percent increase in passengers—2,811,622 total in 2017—flying and in out of the Grand Rapids facility. That record established the best year in the airport’s 54-year history, and marked the fifth straight year of record-setting growth.

The airport saw growth in 11 of 12 months during 2017, and experienced 53 months of growth over a 60-month period.
