Andrew Gunnels was recently named the chief procurement officer of CWT.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

Since the role is a new one, I’m very much looking forward to taking the existing procurement infrastructure and leading the team to the next level of performance.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?

My extensive experience in global procurement and strategic sourcing – having come up from a core finance function before moving to strategic sourcing – has given me a unique understanding of how negotiated outcomes impact the performance of the company.

3. How did you get into the industry?

After graduating from business school, I was hired by Delta Air Lines into their corporate finance function. I’ve been hooked on travel and hospitality ever since!

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

I’m hoping to transform CWT’s procurement function into a world-class business partner that enables the company as a whole to improve its competitiveness.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?

The travel and hospitality industry allows me the unique opportunity to merge my professional passion – global procurement with my passion for global travel and culture. What could be better than that?

1. How do you go above and beyond?

Our guests have a high expectation of service from The Broadmoor. Every team member strives to exceed that expectation; but, as I found out early on, the small things matter just as well.
