Realize Colorado, a destination management company, recently announced that Tina Schwab has joined its staff as director of sales. In her new position, Schwab will be responsible for business development, working with local hotel owners and developing client relationships.

Schwab hasn’t always worked in the tourism and hospitality industry; after more than 25 years as a sales and marketing professional in several business sectors, Schwab decided to change career paths in 2013 when she took on a sales manager position with Visit Vail Valley.

Schwab has since served two terms as director of strategic alliances for the Colorado Society of Association Executives and Meeting Professionals International Rocky Mountain Chapter. Additionally, she was inducted into Colorado Meetings + Events magazine’s Hall of Fame as an up-and-coming supplier in 2017.

“Being a Colorado native, I am passionate about the economic vitality of our state and fully understand the importance of tourism and group travel. I have met and worked alongside some of the best in our industry, and it is a pleasure to join the talented Realize Colorado team,” Schwab says. “I look forward to continue promoting Colorado as the premier destination for meetings and events.” Schwab is based in Realize Colorado’s Denver office. The Global DMC Partner provides corporate, incentive, nonprofit and association groups with a long list of destination services throughout the Centennial State.

“We are so excited to have Tina on our team. I have known her since the beginning of her time at Vail Valley Partnership and have been impressed with her positive impact and success over the years,” Mitchell says. “With our combined passion for Colorado, Realize Colorado will continue making a difference by bringing more meetings and events to our state.”

Julie Pingston, executive vice president/chief operating officer and David Buckenberger, senior vice president of Business Development of the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau have earned the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation, the only integrated executive program specifically designed for the destination marketing industry.

Diverse, extensive experience and a passion for both DC and Denver are what Lester Robinson II is bringing to Visit Denver as the new sales director, Washington DC Region. A Michigan native, Robinson has been in the DC area for 10 years and has traveled all over the country for work. Prior to joining Visit Denver, he worked with Caesar’s Entertainment in Las Vegas and Hilton Worldwide in Baltimore and Michigan.
