Just as March has become Colorado’s Meetings Week with Colorado Meetings + Events magazine’s 12th annual Best of Colorado awards celebration and the 18th annual Meetings Industry Council of Colorado’s Educational Conference & Trade Show all in one week in 2018, fall is the time to give back to a worthy cause and to vote for the planners and suppliers who are excelling in the industry.

Vote here to select Best of Colorado finalists in 25 categories by Nov. 1, 2018. These reader’s choice awards are a chance to recognize great Colorado partners, venues, properties, attractions and more. At the same time, our editorial advisory board, made up of industry representatives from around the state, are nominating and selecting the magazine’s 2018 Hall of Fame inductees. The Best of Colorado winners and Hall of Fame inductees will be announced at an awards celebration on March 12, 2018 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at a location to be announced in the near future.

Plan on spending the following two days in Denver for outstanding networking opportunities and educational sessions at the MIC conference on March 13-14, 2018 at the Colorado Convention Center in the heart of downtown Denver. It’s a worthwhile three days in a city that continues moving up the ranks as a convention city. Record numbers at both events in 2017 means its important to sign up early; Best of Colorado has sold out the past two years!

In addition to getting your vote submitted in October, sign up for MIC’s  24th annual Serving Up Hope luncheon scheduled for Nov. 7, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Denver Mart’s Plaza Building. Early-bird prices for individual tickets and tables of 10 are available until Oct. 18. Serving Up Hope is a great opportunity to network with industry peers and partners and enjoy creative food stations from a variety of restaurants, hotels and university hospitality programs that represent Colorado’s burgeoning culinary scene, all while supporting Food Bank of the Rockies.

Almost everything is donated for Serving Up Hope and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit Food Bank of the Rockies and its Denver’s Table program. At last year’s SUH luncheon MIC of Colorado donated more than $30,000 and 16,000 meals to the Food Bank of the Rockies. That’s impressive!

Mark your calendars with all these important dates so you can vote, help a great cause, network, celebrate and learn right here in Colorado.

It’s not just the places and providers that make our industry great, but also the people. Here are the seven great minds we proudly celebrate as selected by the Illinois Meetings + Events Editorial Advisory Board.

Every year, we ask you—our faithful readers—to tell us the best of the best in the Illinois meetings and events world. Your votes always result in a diverse crop of winners, from F&B to event décor to A/V and more, and this year is no exception.

Our winners are located all over the state, from Schiller Park and Chicago to Galena and Northbrook. Some have recently opened while others are passing decades in the business. A team of five work at one company, while another has thousands of employees.
