With the opening of Spa Adolphus in fall 2016, The Adolphus Hotel now offers add-on packages to incorporate wellness into meetings and events. The Spa Adolphus Revive & Refresh breakout sessions, for example, provide short relaxation breaks—including on-site mini spa services, seated massage, or hydrating aromatherapy hand treatments—to ensure attendees can renew their focus for the duration of a meeting.

During day-long meetings, a longer breakout session can help attendees work through thorny issues and bring new clarity to a topic. Meeting planners can choose either a 30- or 60-minute breakout session with options including dynamic stretching, core strengthening, meditation and the breath, and more. California is officially out of its drought, thanks to a very rainy winter, and among the many wonderful benefits is a spectacular flower season. Nowhere is this more resplendently in view than at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. I recently spent a couple of gorgeous hours touring the 50 acres of the working farm that are devoted to the Tecolote Giant Ranunculus, also known as the Persian Buttercup or Ranunculus Asiatic.

 

There was plenty going on for Global Meetings Industry Day on April 4 (the fourth annual Meetings Mean Business Coalition event), but NYC & Company caught everyone's attention by turning some of the city's most iconic buildings blue. Using MMBC’s signature color, the goal was to raise awareness of the impact that face-to-face meetings have on the global economy and NYC.
