The Alfond Inn at Rollins College will be expanding to accommodate its recent surge in demand since opening its doors in Winter Park, Florida six years ago. The expansion will include the addition of 73 guest rooms, bringing the total to 185 rooms, a state-of-the-art wellness center and spa, and a second swimming pool in an elevated outdoor area with fixed cabanas.

The wellness center will offer a limited number of memberships to local residents as well as access to all hotel guests, and there will also be more than 2,000 square feet of new meeting and event space to be utilized by visitors and locals.

"The Alfond Inn at Rollins is a gathering place for the Winter Park Community. It's a hub for celebrations, weddings, special occasions or simply a night out for dinner or cocktails at Hamilton's Kitchen," says Jesse Martinez, general manager of The Alfond Inn at Rollins. "The hotel is also a place for viewing works from The Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art, which hang in the public areas and are curated by the Cornell Museum of Fine Arts on a rotating basis."

The hotel also exercises its philanthropic mission by donating its net profits to The Alfond Scholars Program, which awards a select group of deserving students a full ride at Rollins College each year. Additionally, The Alfond Inn at Rollins College is a staple to the Winter Park community at large.

"Since it was founded in the 19th Century, Winter Park has always been a city that places tremendous value on the community, livability and its distinct character," Martinez says. "The expansion's design, architecture and future place in the community upholds that vision."

The hotel will remain open during renovations because the expansion is in an entirely new building, causing no disturbance to guests in the current Alfond Inn property.
