• ALHI Announces as Vice President of Sales, Mid-Atlantic Region

Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), a subsidiary of Associated Luxury Hotels, which provides global sales services to over 300 luxury hotels and resorts, recently announced the addition of Heather Buss as new Vice President of Sales for the Mid-Atlantic region. Based in ALHI’s Global Sales office in Washington, D.C., Buss will assist in leading the Mid-Atlantic sales team in creating group business opportunities to grow and strengthen the Associated Luxury Hotels presence.

Buss brings 18 years of solid hospitality sales experience to ALHI. Prior to joining ALHI, she served as Director of Global Sales at Salamander Hotels & Resorts. She has also worked for various Florida-based properties including Villas of Grand Cypress Resort, Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate and Loews Don CeSar. Buss holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from DuPauw University.

Meetings + Events: What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Heather Buss:
I look forward to continuing to strengthen the ALHI brand presence in the Mid-Atlantic and supporting our member hotels and clients through my extensive sales expertise in this market.

M+E: How have your past experiences prepared you for this new role?
HB:
My 19 years of experience in sales, development and partnership sales have prepared me well for this challenging and rewarding new role.

M+E: How did you get into the industry?
HB: After graduating from college, I relocated to Florida and started as a sales assistant at The Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach. At the time The Don CeSar was my favorite hotel, and I never looked back.

M+E: What are you hoping to achieve in your new position?
HB: The main mission of ALHI is to help our clients and members succeed. My goals are to drive business to our member hotels and to assure that our clients have the best events and meetings possible.

M+E: What do you enjoy most about the industry?
HB:
 I enjoy the passion that drives our industry and with it we form lifelong business relationships and partnerships, many of which turn into close friendships.
