Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) recently hosted its fourth annual Insurance & Financial Leaders Exchange (IFLE) in Charleston, South Carolina. The three-day event was invite-only for a small group of financial and insurance industry leaders, 25 select member hotels, and partners Delta Air Lines and Maui Jim. The program consisted of business, networking, philanthropic and social activities as an opportunity for leaders to meet leaders.

"Face-to-face communication is at the core of the ALHI culture, and we continue to strive to build relationships for members and key customers in the insurance and financial industries," says Ashly Balding, ALHI executive vice president. 

At this year's IFLE event, education was a priority. With several keynote speakers and philanthropic team-building opportunities, IFLE brought attendees together to learn from each other while also giving back to the local community.

"This year’s IFLE featured a CSR team-building and lunch event partnering with Doors to Dream, a local nonprofit in Charleston founded by Hope Caldwell (president of KLH Group) that works with historically underserved youth. Participants had the opportunity to build clubhouses with children in the program while engaging their imagination," Balding says.

The overall goal of IFLE is to promote high-level collaboration between the hoteliers and meeting professionals in attendance with robust sessions, networking opportunities and conversations, says Balding. "The IFLE is centered around impactful face-to-face communication to ensure our attendees have the opportunity to create not only memorable experiences with their peers, but to build long lasting relationships leading to overall success in the industry."

Annual show features coveted Ferrari, Cadillac, Rolls Royce and Bentley collector vehicles.

 

The inaugural hot springs connection, a conference designed to build relationships, share ideas and promote thermal mineral water attractions in the U.S., was held in Glenwood Springs last November. The meeting resulted in steps to form a national geothermal trade association and develop a website representing hot springs resorts. The 2019 conference will be Nov. 4-8 in Palm Springs and Desert Springs, California.
