We had a blast hosting the Minnesota M+E Best of 2019 readers' choice awards last night at the Lumber Exchange Event Center. Hopefully you were there celebrating with us!

Although there were no puppies this year due to a puppy shortage (which is, ultimately, a very good thing!), Discover St. Louis Park instead sponsored Uber rides home for guests (meaning guests could enjoy the open bar a little more freely).

Thanks to Mall of America, the premier sponsor, we had some fun experiences for guests. Tiffany Rose Goodyear scented the event, and Claire Ward Illustrations did live illustrations for anyone who was lucky enough to get a slot. My husband and I just adore the illustration Claire did for us (pictured)—we look so fashionable! It's easily my favorite event takeaway, and something that we'll frame and keep forever.

Our other event partners included: Haute House Studio (décor and floral); DJ Don/Gen Now; North Mallow (s'more bar); Time into Pixels (photo booth); and Coppersmith Photography (click here for photos from the event photos).

Congratulations to our Best of 2019 winners and Hall of Famers

When it comes to apples, Minnesota knows its stuff. Home of the Honeycrisp, Minnesota proudly boasted its apple knowledge at the Minnesota Cider Guild's 6th annual Minnesota Cider Fest on Saturday, June 8. With more than 30 local, national and international cideries, the Minnesota Cider Fest offered samples of endless flavors of cider, and for the cider connoisseur, education sessions to test your apple knowledge.

D'Amico Catering celebrated the opening of yet another sure-to-be-a-hit restaurant and bar, The Brooklyn at Edinburgh USA on June 6. From miniature pies, lobster rolls and burgers to tables overflowing with artisan cheeses, fresh vegetables and gourmet breads, the grand opening of The Brooklyn made sure no guest left hungry.

Any time of year, you really can find it here. Minnesota's resorts are the perfect places to celebrate the state's vastly different but equally beautiful seasons. From drifting off to a peaceful sleep in the warm glow of a fireplace, to skiing down rolling hills of freshly fallen snow, Minnesota's colder seasons can be some of the most beautiful to take in the state's nature. But there's something special about the light dancing on the lake and the lush greenery of a Minnesota summer.
