On June 5, the historic Ames Boston Hotel announced the culmination of a renovation project costing $6 million.
Kindred Resorts & Hotels has added seven new properties to the family. A collection of independent hotels and resorts focused on the group and meetings industry, these new properties are each uniquely suited for event planning professionals.
The Ames Boston Hotel has revealed its 1,700 square feet of all-new meeting and event space.
Located on the second floor, the two new spaces include Ames and Oliver & Oakes; they fit groups up to 125 people and feature a design inspired by American manufacturing, uniformity and ingenuity. They were designed by New York City-based architecture and design firm Glen and Co. Architecture.
Entertainment Cruises Boston announced their expansion with the addition of Boston Elite, a new charter yacht opening in Boston Harbor early next year.
“It’s very exciting for our Boston fleet to be receiving a vessel that offers a level of exclusivity unique to any private venue in town, on land or sea,” says Kelley Yelle, general manager, Entertainment Cruises. “Boston deserves an elevated event experience taking advantage of the city’s natural beauty on the water and the new Boston Elite satisfies that need with impeccable style and design.”
Boston Park Plaza has appointed Andrew Beer as their new executive chef. He will manage the hotel’s entire culinary program, including development for custom events and running the on-site restaurant, Off The Common.
Boston Park Plaza has named Sterling Brown their new human resources director. Brown brings more than two decades of human resources experience to his new position.
“Sterling’s extensive expertise in human resources is extremely impressive and a huge gain for Boston Park Plaza,” says Jon Crellin, managing director, Boston Park Plaza. “We have no doubt he will run a smooth and effective operation for our employees and we’re excited to welcome him to the property.”
What happens when a company outgrows its trendy downtown office space in LoDo on Blake Street and faces a booming Denver real estate market? Unbridled Solutions LLC, an event management, production and creative agency headquartered in Denver and with offices in Boston, San Diego and Grand Rapids, bought the 16,000-squarefoot Grant Street Mansion in 2014 and relocated its growing family of businesses to the historic landmark in May 2016. The property has 36 rooms and 14 fireplaces and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
