Don Ross, vice president of catering, conventions and events for Caesars Entertainment Corporation is set to receive the Award of Excellence from Dom Pérignon at the 45th Annual UNLVino wine and food festival. Ross will be honored at Bubble-Licious, which takes place on Thursday, April 11 in downtown Las Vegas' Symphony Park at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center. The award is given to outstanding individuals who are influential in both the events industry and the community.
Ross brings more than 40 years of experience in hotel, resort and casino management and has been a strong influence on properties both inside and outside of Las Vegas. Currently, Ross oversees the catering, conference services, banquets and meeting services teams for ten Las Vegas Caesars Entertainment properties.
"We are proud to have had Don Ross as an integral member of our Caesars Entertainment team for more than 35 years," says Caesars Entertainment chief sales officer Michael Massari. "With involvement in several local charities including the Jewish Federation, Cancer Society, and American Heart Association, Don Ross exemplifies what it means to be a leader in both the hospitality industry and the Las Vegas community."
Ross is a long-time supporter of UNLVino, which raises money for UNLV's Harrah College of Hospitality. In addition to his support, Ross works as a mentor to Harrah College of Hospitality students and leads two major events each year with the college. One event provides 40 college students the opportunity to learn and execute a large-scale event from synchronizing service to waiting tables. The other is the UNLV Harrah College of Hospitality Vino Scholarship, where Ross aids students in creating a 5,000 person wine tasting event.
Plus, Ross works with the Harrah College of Hospitality for their ongoing internship program and accepts talented students as interns at Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas properties.
UNLVino was started in 1974 by Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits and UNLV. Since its beginning, UNLVino has honored numerous industry leaders in the Las Vegas community.
