Joining IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2018 as an upscale luxury brand, Regent Hotels & Resorts presents storied properties across the globe—and now the first location in the Americas, Regent Santa Monica Beach, will debut this year just steps from the Santa Monica Pier.
“We’re thrilled that Regent Santa Monica Beach will be the first destination to open in the Americas,” says Tom Rowntree, vice president of global luxury & lifestyle brands for IHG. “Regent Santa Monica Beach is poised to open following a complete transformation in late 2023 … [and] will mark the historic return of Regent to Los Angeles and become Regent’s Americas flagship.”
The Regent brand offers sleek modernism woven into the design of its properties, aimed at beguiling “even the most seasoned travelers,” notes Rowntree. Alongside Regent are five additional brands in IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, including Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Group LLC, Vignette Collection, and Hotel Indigo—all of which amount to 192 hotels currently open in the Americas and 68 more on the horizon.
The Santa Monica property will provide visitors with tranquil guest rooms, a beachfront pool deck, a destination spa, and wellness center. There will also be an on-site restaurant concept and artisanal marketplace with more detail available in the coming months. “The resort will celebrate the beauty of unexpected harmony through contrasts, delivering inspired stays through a blend of serenity and a touch of decadence,” Rowntree says, adding that it “represents the start of a bright future for the Regent brand in the Americas.”
