Equinox Hospitality, a hotel investment, management, acquisition, and development company, acquired the Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael Marin County earlier this month. The acquisition went for $38 million and marks the company’s fifth hotel added to its portfolio in the last year.
“The potential of this property has always resonated with me, having kept an eye on it for quite some time,” says Adam Suleman, president and CEO of Equinox, in a prepared statement. “When it came onto the market, it felt like the perfect alignment of opportunity. … The property’s strategic location—being at the heart of key sites in Marin, in proximity to San Francisco and [Napa Valley’s] wine country, and next door to a billion-dollar retail and development zone—lends itself to a wealth of opportunities.”
Most notably, the hotel is home to the largest outdoor hotel pool in Marin County and offers nearly 7,000 square feet of flexible event space across seven ballrooms and meeting rooms. Gather in the Marin Ballroom for up to 250 guests in 2,520 square feet of space, connect with a smaller group of colleagues in the 250-square-foot Jr Boardroom for up to six, or get together in the Outdoor Wine Garden for up to 30. Dine on California-inspired cuisine at the on-site Hillside Tavern and sip craft brews through the hotel’s Four Points Best Brews program. In the near future, Equinox will put the hotel through a renovation and rebranding as a Tribute by Marriott property, the plans of which will kick off next year.
