Hotel Erwin, a family-owned property along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, underwent a renovation of its High Rooftop Lounge in late July. Featuring stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Venice Beach, the lounge is a popular destination for all-day dining and happy-hour visits; it is also available for private event bookings of up to 250 people.
“We are thrilled to welcome locals, hotel guests, and travelers to the reimagined High Rooftop Lounge experience this summer,” says Todd Metzger, regional vice president of operations for Springboard Hospitality (Hotel Erwin’s management company based in Encino), in a prepared statement. “This thoughtful refresh—complete with new design, service, and culinary offerings—truly embodies our unwavering commitment to creating and delivering an unforgettable beachside rooftop experience in one of the most iconic Los Angeles neighborhoods.”
The rooftop’s redesign was handled in partnership with Los Angeles-based interior designer Tara Bean. Her vision for the updated space focused on new furnishings, decor, the introduction of bar seating, and a coastal-inspired mural by Southern Californian artist Levi Ponce. The reimagination of the rooftop’s food and beverage program now features a vibrant array of appetizers and main dishes like salads, tacos, sandwiches, flatbreads, and desserts. The new cocktail menu highlights hand-crafted drinks using seasonal ingredients—selections include the Sunset Sour, Surf’s Up Spicy Margarita, Purple Rain, and Venice Sodie.
If planners are interested in a more casual group dining experience, groups of up to 16 can reserve tables on Resy.com; larger groups of more than 16 will require a food and beverage deposit. For a full facility event rental, the entire rooftop lounge can accommodate up to 250 attendees.
