From Napa Valley and South Lake Tahoe to Southern California, various hotels and resorts around California are either making significant progress on or wrapping up major renovations, as they work to expand offerings and boost guest experiences.
Out in South Lake Tahoe, the Coachman Hotel finished the latest phase of its full-scale property renovation in mid-March. The project includes upgrades to its 81 guest rooms and the debut of 21 additional guest rooms, alongside the addition of a dedicated wellness space, an expanded fitness facility, and 900 square feet of meeting and event space. The Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa Valley debuted a $25 million property revitalization on April 1, including 322 renovated guest rooms (in addition to its existing 145 rooms and suites), a new steakhouse, a transformed lobby and bar, upgraded meeting spaces, a new bowling lounge, and more. Just north of San Diego in La Jolla, the Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton, put the finishing touches on a multimillion-dollar property renovation at the end of March that touched on its 110 guest rooms and 1,600 square feet of function space, bringing a modern beach aesthetic to the interior design. The project also included the debut of Sea & Sky, a new penthouse-level restaurant serving sea-to-table cuisine and led by Chef Anthony Wells. hilton.com
In the Southern California city of Carlsbad, the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa began an extensive property renovation in mid-March that is set to be unveiled later this summer. The redesign is slated to upgrade to everything from guest rooms and villas to its spa and golf courses. Renovations will also touch on the resort’s on-site meeting and event space, including a refresh of the Coastal Events Center, which features several individual meeting spaces. omnihotels.com
