The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, has partnered with local nonprofit animal rescue, Pup Culture Rescue, to offer monthly puppy yoga classes for guests and groups. As participants flow through various yoga poses during the 50-minute class led by fitness instructor Anne Harriger, they will enjoy the company of friendly and adorable puppies that are available for adoption after class.
“We had a special request from a corporate group looking for a unique and memorable team-building experience,” says Cheyenne Bowers, director of spa at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. “They wanted something that would not only help their team relax but also foster a sense of unity and joy. We wanted to offer something that would give guests the ultimate relaxation experience and give back to the community. We researched and found that animal therapy can be beneficial to people and saw that we can help these adorable pups find loving homes.”
A popular meetings and events destination set on 23 acres in Pasadena, The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, offers more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space with 20 different event venues ranging from intimate boardrooms and elegant ballrooms to the iconic Horseshoe Garden, which can accommodate up to 1,500 people.
Pup Culture is dedicated to saving dogs and educating the community about the importance of adoption. The organization rescues non-breed-specific animals of all ages in Los Angeles and internationally. Through outreach and education, it is committed to preventing dogs from abandonment and reducing the stress on the shelter system.
“Puppy yoga is the perfect activity for fostering connections among team members or event attendees,” says Bowers. “Plus, the endorphins from the yoga practice and the joy of being around puppies contribute to an overall sense of well-being and camaraderie.”
To ensure that everyone has ample space to enjoy the experience and interact with the puppies, classes are typically capped at 30 participants. Puppy yoga is offered on a monthly basis and is also available upon request for VIP groups.
“We’re excited to offer this experience as part of our commitment to providing innovative and enriching activities at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena,” says Bowers. “Whether you’re a yoga enthusiast, a dog lover, or just looking for something different to do, puppy yoga is sure to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.”
The cost to attend is $45 per person and $10 from each ticket purchased goes to Pup Culture Rescue. The next puppy yoga class will be offered on September 22 at 6 p.m. on the hotel’s Horseshoe Garden.
