Postino WineCafe, a widely popular all-day restaurant and wine cafe brand will make its debut in San Diego with new locations in the city’s Little Italy and Del Mar neighborhoods this spring. The Postino Little Italy will be located on the corner of Kettner Avenue and Ivy Street inside Kilroy Realty’s LEED-certified 2,652-square-foot building. Postino Del Mar is slated to open as part of One Paseo, a 2,426-square-foot outdoor shopping and dining destination.
Both locations will showcase the brand’s offerings of boutique wines and craft brews paired with an Italian-inspired menu of bruschetta, panini, salads, and shareable charcuterie platters. Postino draws its name from the Italian word for “postman,” an homage to the former 1940s post office where the first Postino debuted more than 20 years ago.
“Feeling a connection and alignment with a community is what drives us to open our doors at a new location,” says Lauren Bailey, co-founder and CEO of Postino, in a prepared statement. “Honestly, it comes down to a feeling in our gut that this is our next home, and the stars aligned with these two perfect locations at just the right time. There is so much to love about San Diego, and we have dreamed up these spaces to be an exciting and intimate gathering place for the community.”
For groups and events, Postino offers catering service that can either be arranged for pick-up or for delivery, the latter of which is available for orders over $100 and within 10 miles of any Postino location. Both San Diego locations will have on-site group dining capacity as well, available to take group reservations of 15 people or more with flexibility to arrange for smaller groups as needed. Postino has an existing Southern California location in Irvine, just north of San Diego, which has private dining options as well.
Specific opening dates are still to come for both San Diego venues. Postino also has locations in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, and Texas.
