Opened in mid-January, Terra Palm Springs is a new luxury wellness resort in the heart of downtown Palm Springs that aims to provide a serene sanctuary for revitalization in Coachella Valley. Its founders noticed a gap in the market for a wellness-oriented resort, so they transformed an existing property into a 13-room retreat to redefine wellness in the desert. The founding team includes Soli Cayetano, creative director; Josh Dobken, director of operations; Diana Ossa, architect and designer; and Carrick Young, chief financial officer.
“While Palm Springs isn’t traditionally known as a wellness destination, we recognized a growing desire among consumers for escapes dedicated to longevity, mindful living, and holistic healing,” Cayetano says. “This desert city is a place of peaceful energy and natural beauty, and we will bring guests the opportunity to optimize their healing in a space that embodies that tranquility. Each element of the resort—from the design to the experiences—has been thoughtfully crafted to provide a restorative journey for the mind, body, and soul.”
Midcentury modern architecture is blended with natural, organic materials such as concrete, stone, terracotta, and wood to create a harmonious space for relaxing. With views of the San Jacinto Mountains in the distance, room features include fire pits, spa suites with soaking tubs, private patios, pools, and red-light therapy, among others. Guests also might enjoy eco-conscious bath products from Le Labo, spa products from Surya, and premium comfort amenities ranging from plush organic robes and Sealy mattresses to Parachute bedding.
Resort amenities include an outdoor hot tub and heated swimming pool with cabanas, along with various wellness experiences such as cold plunge therapy for boosting circulation, a Himalayan salt sauna for detoxification, an immersive rain room featuring soothing thunderstorm sounds, and bodywork therapy. The resort also has partnered with top wellness brands including HigherDose for infrared pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) mats, Loftie sleep technology to enhance restorative sleep, as well as Vuori for premium workout and yoga equipment.
James Beard Award-winning Executive Chef Michael Beckman has created Terra Palm Springs’ nutritious culinary program highlighting fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that nourish the body and soul. A refreshing menu by award-winning bartender Eduardo Nava Mendoza rounds out the list of offerings with seasonal cocktails and wellness-focused beverages. A curated selection of functional lattes and elixirs also are available, such as the Radiance, which enhances skin vitality and boosts collagen synthesis with wild-caught marine collagen, blue spirulina, coconut cream, and vanilla bean.
Complimentary weekend programming is available for guests during their stay and runs the gamut from group fitness and meditation classes to sound baths. Comprehensive wellness journeys and quarterly retreats with visiting practitioners are available for those seeking a more immersive experience, and the property provides intimate event space for up to 70 guests—making it ideal for corporate retreats, weddings, and group buyouts for private wellness experiences. In addition to the bar and lounge, flexible event space is located next to the courtyard and swimming pool.
