The Jay, Autograph Collection, underwent recent renovations and reopened at the corner of Clay Street and Battery Street in San Francisco in mid-November. The former Le Méridien San Francisco property sits adjacent to the Jackson Square neighborhood and is just a few blocks from the historic Ferry Building. It features 360 guest rooms and 16 function spaces for meetings and events.
“Designed by award-winning global design firm AvroKO, The Jay is infused with the history of San Francisco, which can be seen in each component of the design,” says Todd Statz, director of sales and marketing at The Jay. “The Jay is also home to The Third Floor, the hotel’s only restaurant operated in partnership with the award-winning Omakase Restaurant Group; it serves as a three-meal dining outlet and coffee bar built around the buzzy, social hotel lobby.”
Across its function spaces, planners have 13,000 square feet of space to work with for events across two floors. “Each room’s unique design tells a story that aligns with the San Francisco legend that the rooms are named for,” Statz notes. “In partnership with Encore Global, the meeting spaces will feature a mix of seamlessly built-in and customized audiovisual products to enhance in-person and virtual connection. They will also include floor-to-ceiling windows featuring natural lighting and city views.” Depending on room choice and configuration, the hotel can accommodate groups of up to 200 attendees.
The Jay also offers team-building activities, from afternoon chocolate tastings through partner Recchiuti Chocolates to on-site wine/ champagne tastings or beer tastings. The Jay’s partner City Guides also offers a collection of walking tours that cater well to varied interests.
“The Jay’s location in the Embarcadero neighborhood makes it a standout option for both leisure guests and business guests,” says Statz. “Connected via pedestrian bridge to the Embarcadero Center, guests have easy access to many businesses, shops, entertainment, theaters, and cafes.”
