Construction Broke Ground on Pasea Hotel & Spa

By M+E Staff

Pasea Hotel & Spa construction is underway. R.D. Olson Development and Pacific Hospitality Group began work on the eight-story, 250-room hotel and restaurant and bar situated across from Huntington Beach Pier.

“The hotel is ideally suited to complement the Southern California beach-inspired lifestyle,” said Bob Olson, founder and CEO of R.D. Olson Development. “We’re excited to begin construction on this exceptional project and to draw upon the culture of this storied surf city.”

The new hotel and spa will be an ideal location for meetings, events, conferences and the like with more than 25,000 square feet of event space, including a 8,700-square-foot ballroom. Additionally, the property will feature a spacious event lawn and 10 meeting rooms that vary in size.

“We see Pasea Hotel & Spa as the quintessential location for group meetings and business conferences in Huntington Beach, as well as for the multi-generational guest seeking an active lifestyle travel experience,” said Tim Busch, CEO of Pacific Hospitality Group.

Designed by international hotel architect WATG, Pasea Hotel & Spa is designed to be a modern oasis with clean, coastal style, translating to take on a meaning of a slow and steady strolling pace of the sea. In addition to 250 guest rooms, the hotel and spa will feature a Balinese-inspired spa with both indoor and outdoor treatment areas, an expansive pool with an outdoor courtyard, a rooftop deck and bar overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and a signature restaurant with spacious outdoor dining patio seating.

“Pasea Hotel & Spa promises to be an exceptional property in Huntington Beach, appealing to both the leisure and business traveler,” said Kory Kramer, chief investment officer of Pacific Hospitality Group.  “With the amount of ocean-view outdoor space, the hotel is certain to be an ideal location for social events and upscale dining and nightlife. We are excited to add another luxury hotel and spa to our growing Meritage Collection.”

Construction is scheduled for completion in early 2016.
