Hotel Maya recently announced it has completed its $4 million renovation. Improvements to the property include updated guest rooms and the addition of a brand new waterfront pavilion and terrace. The Lagunita pavillion and Vista del Mar combine for 16,400 square feet.
“The renovated guest rooms are a perfect complement to the new Lagunita and Vista del Mar events spaces, which creates a unique architectural strategy,” said Kristi Allen, vice president of hotel operations. “We are always evaluating the needs of the market and our clients as well as listening to guests’ feedback to further improve our ever-popular property.”
The 199-room Hotel Maya installed new custom hardwood flooring to its guest rooms. Additionally, door frames were modified and new floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors were added. Air conditioning units were changed to quieter, more energy-efficient versions.
The “Lagunita” pavillion is an 80 foot by 80 foot event venue featuring a cathedral-style ceiling, four chandeliers and two floor-to-ceiling glass walls that open to panoramic views of the waterfront and city. Lagunita can hold up to 600 guests standing, 400 guests with a dance floor, 450 guests seated in rounds and 350 guests in classroom-style seating. The “Vista del Mar” is a 10,000 square foot pre-function outdoor space. It features large doors, a permanent stage, palm trees, as well as a water and fire display. Vista del Mar also contains outdoor furniture, a fire pit, alfresco bar and an open-air reception area. It can hold up to 700 guests standing and 350 seated in rounds.
