Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, located in the Westside area of Los Angeles, recently hired Susan Santiago as area vice president and general manager. In her new role, Santiago will be in charge of all operations for the 726-room hotel, and will also oversee the operations of other Hyatt Hotels in the Los Angeles area. The Miami, Fla. native is Hyatt’s first female area vice president and the first female general manager for Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
“I am thrilled to call Southern California home again, especially at a landmark hotel steeped in such vibrant tradition, and to be among a community that wholly respects the great institution the property is,” says Santiago. “I look forward to making a difference in the lives of our guests and patrons that visit Hyatt properties in the LA area.”
In her most recent position, Santiago was vice president of food and beverage-Americas operations for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. The Florida International University graduate started her career at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and worked in several food and beverage positions at the Hyatt Orland Airport. She continued to work in different positions with Hyatt over the course of the following years. Currently, Santiago is a Board of Directors member for the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Women in Lodging Council, as well as a member of its food and beverage committee. In her spare time, she enjoys the beach, golf and tennis.
