Key Hires at Timber Cove

By M+E Staff

Timber Cove Resort is welcoming two key executives to the celebrated resort that sits on a dramatic bluff above a rugged stretch of the Sonoma coastline. Jason Reiplinger joins Timber Cove as managing director and Brendalee Vialpando as executive chef.

Reiplinger will provide leadership and strategic direction for the resort and oversee all aspects of the property, including food and beverage, guest services, operations, and asset management. He brings nearly two decades of hospitality experience to the role. Prior to joining Timber Cove, Reiplinger spent seven years with Woodside Hotel Group, most recently as managing director at the AAA Four Diamond Bodega Bay Lodge. Before that position, he held a variety of senior leadership roles at notable properties, including director at Bellagio Resort & Casino, where he achieved annual revenue of over $30M, and director of food & beverage for San Francisco’s The Battery Hotel & Private Members Club, overseeing two restaurants and four bars.

“I look forward to building upon the Timber Cove Resort reputation and further exceeding guest expectations,” says Reiplinger. In his new role Reiplinger will also oversee management of The Setting Inn, Napa Valley, and The Setting Inn, Willamette Valley, Oregon, which are both managed by Ironwave Hospitality Management.

Brendalee Vialpando also joins Timber Cove from the Woodside Hotel Group, where she most recently served as executive chef at Bodega Bay Lodge. Her experience also includes roles as sous chef at TORC in Napa and chef de partie at Julian Serrano Restaurant and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, both in Las Vegas. As executive chef she will lead the Coast Kitchen team in expanding the restaurant’s menu offerings with a greater focus on seafood and vegetable-forward dishes and collaborating with local fishermen, farmers and ranchers. In-room dining and banquets will also be elevated under Vialpando’s direction.

“As we look toward an exciting 2022, we are thrilled to welcome these two exceptional and creative leaders to the Timber Cove team,” Jens Von Gierke and Michael Barry, co-owners of Timber Cove Resort and Ironwave Hospitality Management, said in a statement.  “With Jason’s extensive experience across operations and food and beverage and Brendalee’s roots in the Northern California culinary community, both talents are instrumental in further establishing Timber Cove as a world-class destination.”
