Sometimes you want to take a break from wine and enjoy a cocktail at home, one a little more complex than, say, rum and coke or scotch and soda. Until now, our choices were using a store-bought mix loaded with artificial ingredients or assembling liqueurs, bitters, herbs- fretting over what you don’t have- and wondering what you did with your muddler (or even what that is). Now, with Om Cocktails, which were introduced to the press poolside at The Peninsula Beverly Hills (an intoxicating setting even without booze), there’s a better option.
Developed by famed mixologist Natalie Bovis, aka The Liquid Muse, OM Cocktails are bottled, vodka-based ready-to-pour elixirs. The craft cocktails are USDA certified organic, made with organic vodka, natural sweeteners and flavored with fruit. Right now, OM cocktails are available in three flavors: wild cranberry and blood orange, Meyer lemon and ginger, and coconut water and lychee. OM’s earth-friendly credo goes beyond what’s inside the bottle. The labels are printed with non-toxic, water-based inks at a carbon-neutral wind-powered facility, the shipping cases are made with 75 percent post-consumer recycled materials and the lightweight bottles themselves are manufactured with less glass. And, here’s the olive in the martini: working with Trees for the Future, OM plants a tree in Haiti for every bottle that’s purchased.
OM Cocktails have been racking up industry accolades, including a “best in show” honor from the recent convention of the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America. So, simply remove the stopper from the lovely bottle, pour over ice and you’ll be offering your guests- at your home or your event- a sophisticated and sustainable libation. We’ll drink to that!
