Mixologist Freddie Sarkis curated a custom cocktail menu to reflect the globally inspired cuisine at the newly opened Scroll Bar Waterside Kitchen in Redwood City. The fare at the eatery that’s inside the Pullman San Francisco Bay Hotel ranges from an ahi poke stack appetizer to the $350 Scroll Kitchen luau pig that has to be ordered 48 hours in advance and requires a minimum of eight diners.

Triple S Ranch Saved from Wildfires

One of the amazing survival stories from the wildfires that raged across Northern California involves the historic Triple S Ranch Napa and neighboring properties in Calistoga. Surrounded by fire on all sides, the ranch was saved due to a 10-hour battle waged by owner Derek Webb and a handful of courageous employees and neighbors.

There have been festivities galore in Los Angeles. At the 2nd Annual “Go All-in” Chrysalis Poker Night, held at the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica, nearly $100,000 was raised for the nonprofit that’s dedicated to helping the homeless and low-income men and women find steady employment. The theme of the evening was “The 1960s Golden Age of Travel.”
