Colorado's Latest Activities & Attractions

The ART Hotel, located in Denver’s museum district, has introduced a 5K urban public art run. Guests can request a detailed map featuring a route that highlights downtown Denver’s most significant public art pieces, and guides are available if desired.

Denver’s first chef-driven farmers market has launched and runs every Saturday until Oct. 24 due to a partnership between the Boulder County Farmers Market, Denver Union Station and prominent area chefs.

Event Spotlight: Catering by Design Celebrated a Milestone

How did Denver-based Catering by Design celebrate its 20th anniversary? Owners Cade and Ingrid Nagy’s answer was BASH 20, an allout, in-your-face culinary adventure held on March 24. The Catering by Design team and sister company, By Design Event Décor, created never-before-experienced food stations and decorative lounges that transformed Denver’s Mile High Station into a showcase of what’s new. A jerky gallery, elevated chandelier dessert buffet, 7-foot-tall rubber duck and threedimensional paint-bynumbers experience were among the many wonders of the night.

New Venue Spotlight: Philip S. Miller Park

Castle Rock’s Philip S. Miller Park officially opened in October 2014 with the crown jewel being the Miller Activity Complex with an aquatic center, trampoline room, golf simulator, drop-down batting cages and two indoor fields. Outdoors, a synthetic-turf field and more than 7 miles of soft-surface trail provide loads of additional options along with Castle Rock Zip Line Tours and Epic Adventure Tower, which are privately operated attractions.

Event Snapshots: MIC Conference & Trade Show

The 16th annual Meetings Industry Council of Colorado Educational Conference & Trade Show once again broke attendance records and was held on March 17 at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center. An opening educational event for meeting planners and reception kicked off the event on March  16. Next year’s conference date is March 15, 2017. 

Event Snapshots: Best of Colorado

The timing was supreme, hosting the 10th annual Best of Colorado on the Denver Broncos’ indoor training field at UCHealth Training Center on March 15, only a month after the team landed a Super Bowl victory. A sellout crowd viewed three floors of space, saluted the winners, and enjoyed stellar food by Biscuits and Berries, entertainment by 5 Star Talent and Entertainment, and décor by Eclectic Hive. INGREDIENTS

—1.5 oz. Bison Grass Vodka

—1 honey crisp apple, juiced

—1 honey crisp apple slice for garnish

DIRECTONS

1. Pour Bison Grass Vodka over ice.

2. Run one whole honey crisp apple through masticator or juicer and pour apple juice over vodka.

3. Garnish with a honey crisp apple slice.
