JBK Hotels has debuted the results of a five-month-long makeover of the 140-room Aloft Denver Downtown. The property reopened in September after serving as one of the city’s pandemic-era emergency shelters for unhoused residents considered vulnerable to COVID-19. It is easy to see that little remained untouched as Aloft Denver Downtown unveils the $3 million renovation that encompassed guest rooms, food and beverage spaces, the fitness center, a social lounge, and more.
“We are proud to have been a part of Denver’s pandemic response and witness firsthand how the community came together. After a roughly $3 million, five-month renovation, we are excited to relaunch a virtually brand-new upscale hotel. Being next to the convention center, we are happy to welcome back our regular guests, as well as those that are yet to experience our superlative hospitality,” says Jonathan Gandhi of JBK Hotels, which spearheaded the renovation of Aloft Denver Downtown.
The property is part of Marriott International’s Aloft Hotels brand, which caters to a tech-savvy, music-loving crowd and is managed by Azul Hospitality Group. The new guest-room aesthetic has a modern, neutral palette with touches of yellow and blue. Accommodations have been refitted with new headboards, mattresses, linens, and 55-inch televisions and feature amenities such as in-room steamers and Drybar bath products. Additionally, each hotel floor alternates between dark magenta with dark gray and dark turquoise with dark gray aesthetics.
Similar colors are used throughout the hotel, with the lobby featuring a dark-gray base, black and white wallpaper, and dashes of yellow, magenta, and purple on furniture and throw pillows. The design approach spills into the WXYZ bar, Re:mix lounge, Re:charge fitness center, and Re:fuel by Aloft market pantry.
For groups, there is more than 1,400 square feet of meetings and event space, with the largest able to host up to 90 people. Top-of-the-line audiovisual equipment is available for use.
