Flying Horse Resort & Club, a resort-style athletic club and spa located north of downtown Colorado Springs, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The property opened in 2005, along with its Weiskopf Championship Golf Course, designed by golf course architect Tom Weiskopf. Over the next 17 years, Flying Horse would add the Athletic Club & Spa (2006), the Clubhouse (2007), the West Lodge and The Steakhouse (2015), the Flying Horse North Golf Course (2020), and the East Lodge and Fortezza restaurant (2022).

Today, the resort features 102 guest rooms, suites, and villas; 21,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space across nine meeting rooms; four dining outlets; a spa; two golf courses; and several other amenities.
“When I think about the future, I think about the next generation of leaders growing up in our organization,” says Wendy McHenry, general manager at Flying Horse Resort & Club. “I think about the next generation of members and resort guests. As Flying Horse grows, I think the future is amazing, and it’s going to be fun to be a part of it.”

For groups, planners can select from several on-site gathering spaces. The 2,079-square-foot Thomas Blake Ballroom accommodates 200 attendees, the 704-square-foot Verona executive boardroom can host up to 16, and the 600-square-foot Rotunda in The Steakhouse has a capacity of 50 people. Both the Milano Ballroom and the Turin Ballroom are 1,520 square feet in size and accommodate 100 people each. Various catering menu packages are available to select from, as well as several comprehensive conference and meeting packages.
Planners can incorporate an assortment of activities and services into an event agenda, including mindful movement breaks, group mat Pilates or yoga, group golf clinics, pickleball and basketball matches, charcuterie-board building and wine tasting, and wood-fired pizza classes, among others.
“Event planners should consider Flying Horse for its elegant venues, seamless event support, and stunning Rocky Mountain backdrop, offering a sophisticated setting that ensures flawless execution and memorable experiences,” says Kendyl Berger-Bancroft, marketing manager at the resort. “With easy access to Colorado Springs, Denver International Airport, and the surrounding area attractions, [the resort ensures] there is never a shortage of things to do while meeting at Flying Horse.”
