Ranch Event Raises $250,000 for Mount Saint Vincent

By M+E Staff

Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur hosted a dinner and fundraising event on Aug. 12 from 5-9:30 p.m. to benefit Mount Saint Vincent Children’s Home. Held in tandem with the ranch’s annual cattle sale, which happened the following day, the evening treated guests to a memorable Colorado experience with cigar rolling, whiskey tasting, music, and a delicious meal.

The 300 guests experienced an authentic live auction that included a highly sought-after Black Angus heifer donated by Spruce Mountain Ranch as well as several other items. The event raised close to $250,000.

Commander Mark Nutsch, the Green Beret commander portrayed in the Hollywood movie “12 Strong” and New York Times bestseller “Horse Soldier,” was the featured speaker and shared the true-life story of helping lead what is considered the most successful unconventional warfare campaign on record.

Spruce Mountain Ranch, an authentic Black Angus cattle ranch and event venue, also is very involved with Mount Saint Vincent through Spruce Mountain Events. The ranch hosts an annual Santa Brunch and Easter Brunch, with all proceeds benefitting the children’s home. Staff also invited the kids to the ranch this fall to enjoy a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and crafts and collects gifts and provides crafts at Christmas.
