As the first LEED Silver-certified hotel in Colorado and in the Westin Hotels & Resorts brand in 2008, The Westin Riverfront continues to be a leader in environmentally friendly lodging. Examples of green programs at the resort include a large outdoor pool and three infinity hot tubs that use a saline-based filtration system to reduce chemical consumption by 90%; electric vehicle charging stations; and the use of composted food scraps, coffee grounds, and other waste in the resort’s on-site Mountains of Wellness Garden, where herbs and vegetables are seasonally grown.
