After evaluating more than 350 nominations, 17 winners were selected for the 2023 Historic Hotels of America Awards of Excellence. Frank and Gina Day, owners of Hotel Boulderado in Boulder, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which is presented to individuals whose lifelong passion has resulted in the preservation and celebration of the history and stories of a legendary historic hotel. Hotel Boulderado opened in 1909, and it has space for 250 in its largest ballroom.
Recipients were honored in early October at the 2023 Historic Hotels Annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony and Gala held at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Historic Hotels of America is an official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation that recognizes, celebrates, and promotes many of the finest historic hotels in the U.S.
