Here are the latest career changes for movers and shakers in the meetings and events and hospitality industries in the Centennial State.

Stacy Daeffler has been hired to serve as associate director of sales at The Charter at Beaver Creek. Located in the Vail Valley, The Charter has more than 150 individually owned one- to five-bedroom condominiums and over 8,000 square feet of event space. Daeffler previously served as manager of Destination Colorado Meetings for 10 years. The statewide association brings together destinations, lodging properties, venues, and suppliers to promote Colorado as a meetings and events destination.  

Marie Huston stepped into Daeffler’s previous role and is the new manager of Destination Colorado Meetings. As a Destination Colorado member while working as a senior group sales manager for YMCA of the Rockies, she attended several of the association’s events and is bringing more than 35 years of hospitality and tourism experience to the position. Huston and her husband owned and operated Carlos & Maria’s Mexican Restaurant in Winter Park between her jobs as a group sales manager for various properties in the Winter Park area. The couple recently relocated to Grand Junction. 

Chris Henke is the new director of sales at Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. He brings eight years of hospitality sales experience at historic mountain properties to the position. Most recently, Henke was a national director of sales for the southeast and Texas regions for The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Prior to that, he was a sales manager for The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. 

Kirby KinerVon Fabella, and Hannah Miles helped launch The Slate Denver, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in May. Kiner, the property’s general manager, has been a hospitality professional for more than 25 years and joined the property from DoubleTree by Hilton Denver-Aurora, where he was the GM. Previous experience includes serving as assistant general manager at Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver and Embassy Suites Denver Downtown and food and beverage director at Sage Hospitality. 

Fabella, director of sales and marketing, has worked for 21c Museum Hotel Chicago, Hilton Hotels Worldwide, and Kinzie Hotel. Miles, assistant general manager joined The Slate Denver from DoubleTree by Hilton Denver-Aurora, where she worked in the same role and as front office manager. Miles also has gained experience at Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Tech Center North and Hampton Inn & Suites Denver/South RidgeGate.

Danielle Caswell has been hired as group sales manager by Viewline Resort Snowmass, a newly renovated slopeside resort in Snowmass Village. Caswell’s career in hospitality sales spans nearly a decade, working with hotels and resorts within the Hyatt and Marriott brands. Prior to joining Viewline, Caswell was senior group sales manager at Otis Hotel, Autograph Collection in Austin, Texas. She also gained experience at Hyatt Regency Austin and Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa.
