Raise a glass to a classic hotel in business for a century, take up golf in a new type of country club, and sip a pint at one of Fort Collins’ latest brewery additions.
The Armstrong Hotel, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is celebrating 100 years of serving locals, groups, and visitors from all over the world. As part of the centennial anniversary, the hotel hosted a Party Like It’s 1923 event on April 13 to kick off the festivities. Throughout the year, The Armstrong Hotel is revealing new celebratory activities like craft cocktails by the decade and special musical guests in Ace Gillett’s Lounge & Supper Club.
On the flip side, a new golf bar and brewery are beginning their run in Old Town. South Broadway Country Club expanded from Denver to Fort Collins with the opening of a location in Old Town Square. The venue features a full-service cocktail bar, three high-end golf simulator bays, and rollup doors that open onto a patio.
Salt Road Brewing LLC opened in the former Prost Brewing Co. space in Old FireHouse Alley. The craft brewery, named for the ancient network of trade routes or “salt roads” used to move goods throughout Europe and Asia, is starting with 10 taps that showcase beer styles from around the world made with Colorado ingredients.
