Westin Denver Downtown Named John Everett as General Manager

John Everett was recently named general manager of The Westin Denver Downtown. Everett has 20 years of management experience, including 11 years as the general manager at The Westin Galleria, Dallas, Texas. During his tenure the hotel became a RevPar market leader, receiving best in class in quality assurance scores, guest service scores, and associate satisfaction scores. The hotel also won several awards including 2009 & 2011 Westin Hotel of the Year. In addition, Everett managed an $80 million restoration and reconstruction of the property.
 
“We are thrilled to have John back in Denver,” said Tom Curley, area managing director for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. “John’s love of Colorado, previous experience in this market and past relationships with many in the hospitality industry will enable him to make an easy transition back to Denver.”
 
Everett, joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2000 as the hotel manager of The Westin Park Central in Dallas, Texas. Then he became hotel manager of The Westin Tabor Center (now The Westin Denver Downtown), one of Starwood’s Top 20 Owned Westin Hotels. Prior to joining Starwood, Everett held directorial and managerial positions at various hotels including the Radisson Redick Tower Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska; the Olympia Resort Hotel & Conference Center in Park City, Utah; the Doubletree Guest Suites in Houston, Texas and the Doubletree Hotel at Lincoln Centre in Dallas, Texas.
 
Everett has served as the vice president of the Denver Metro Hotel Association in 2004, as well as a board member of the association from 2001 to 2004. He was a board member from 2003-2004 for the Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau (now Visit Denver), and served as a board member of the North Texas Hotel Association and the North Dallas Chamber.
