Based on press releases that I’ve been receiving lately, there are many great activities that groups can tap into this summer in Colorado. Get creative by adding your own tie-ins and talk to event and activity organizers to see how they can customize what they do to fit your group’s specific needs.
Larimer Square, one of my favorite districts in downtown Denver, has added a chef-curated artisanal food market on Saturdays to its summer lineup. Le Jardin Secret is being held in the Bistro Vendôme Courtyard on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., with vendors like Grateful Bread Company, Western Daughters Butcher Shoppe, Truffle Cheese Shop, Sugarmill and Blooming Fool selling ingredients for the home chef. On June 14, July 19 and Aug. 16, Larimer Square restaurants once again extend their patios into the streets for the one-of-a-kind Dining Al Fresco with happy hour festivities, dinner and live music.
Experience more local farm culture by taking a private, group or electric bike ride through Boulder or taking part in a Thursday Night Bike to Farm Tour with Awestruck Outdoors. End tours at a farm and feast on local cuisine such as fresh farm grown salad, fried green tomatoes or fruit cobbler. For a bigger feast and live music, go on the Tour de Farm tour held once a month.
Beer & Bike Tours give cyclists the chance to taste local brews and experience Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver, Rocky Mountain National Park and beyond. Spend the day seeing fall colors, Colorado’s famous passes and divides or beautiful summer wildflowers and end the day at Colorado’s many craft breweries.
Take a Colorado Jeep Tour through the historic gold mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek and end at Winery at Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City for a wine tour and tasting.
The Gunnison-Crested Butte Valley’s version of the Rocky Mountain dinner cruise is taking a scenic raft ride Almont with Three Rivers Outfitting on the Gunnison River and pulling up at Garlic Mike’s, an Italian riverfront restaurant for dinner on the patio or indoors.
