Two New Longmont Event Venues Offer New Twists on Beverage, Food & Fun

By M+E Staff

Longmont, one of Colorado’s Front Range communities, is adding two new event venues: The Wild Game Entertainment Experience and The Oak Room at Oskar Blues Brewery.

The Wild Game Entertainment Experience, located at 2251 Ken Pratt Blvd., is holding a grand opening on Feb. 24 to showcase its 28,000-square-foot restaurant and entertainment venue. Among the many ways to keep groups entertained are upscale dining, two bars, bowling, billiards, darts, bocce ball, ping-pong, shuffleboard, foosball, cornhole, a video and redemption game arcade, and live music. The Wild Game serves a selection of entrees, appetizers, handmade burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza and desserts and has meeting and banquet rooms and a second-story deck with views of the Continental Divide.

The grand opening also will celebrate four local charities—Longmont Humane Society, OUR Center, A Woman’s Work and the Education Foundation of St. Vrain Valley—with proceeds from four consecutive Sundays, starting on Feb. 26, going to these organizations.

“We’ve worked hard to fine tune our original concept in Evergreen and plan to expand this unique dining and entertainment experience to select locations along the Front Range,” says Dave Wilson, who developed the Colorado-based Wild Game Entertainment Experience concept with business partner Sean Lynch in 2014.

Only a few days later on Feb. 26, Oskar Blues Brewery is hosting a Mardi Gras-themed grand opening of The Oak Room, 1800 Pike Rd., starting at 3 p.m. The 4,275-square-foot event space is adjacent to the brewery and features a private bar, custom-made oak barrel furniture and accessories, a 24-foot projection screen and views of more than 1,000 oak barrels aging rare and specialty Oskar Blues brews. The grand opening promises to celebrate Mardi Gras in style with live music; authentic, Cajun food from Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids & Solids; a costume contest; and signature and rare craft beers.

The Oak Room is ideal for charity events, live music, executive board meetings, workshops and gatherings for up to 280 attendees. Meeting and event planners can choose foods prepared by Oskar Blues Fooderies, ranging from casual to formal, and beverages are provided by Oskar Blues, B. Stiff & Sons Old Fashioned Sodas and Hotbox Roasters coffee. Relax outside on a grass courtyard for lawn games and soaking up Colorado sunshine or move over to Oskar Blues Tasty Weasel Taproom with garage doors that open onto a patio.

A big grand opening week for Longmont! Check out some of Colorado’s newest venues.
