The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is hitting the road with the Curiosity Cruiser, a mobile museum that is easy to spot with its eye-catching graphics and bright turquoise, tangerine, and red color scheme. The pickup truck and energy-efficient electric trailer are staffed by museum educators who lead interactive encounters like Wonderosity that involves solving a mystery, and Flavorology, which examines the five tastes—
bitter, spicy, umami, sweet, and sour—and mixes them with other senses. Another experience called Spicy: Revealed will be unveiled this year.
Like food trucks, the mobile lab appears at random locations or can be booked Friday through Sunday for events, with requests for other days considered on a case-by-case basis. The Curiosity Cruiser travels within a 90-minute radius of the museum, and fees are determined by the type of gathering and time of year. Discounts are available to nonprofit and community organizations.
