Make Plans for March

By M+E Staff

If there are three days in March to make sure you are in Denver, make sure to put March 10-12 on your calendar. Since the magazine started our Best of Colorado readers’ choice awards eight years ago, we’ve had it the same week as the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado Educational Conference and Tradeshow every year, except maybe one. The awards typically happen on a Monday evening (this year March 10) and the conference and tradeshow on Wednesday (March 12), usually with a VIP reception the night in between making Tuesday a good day for people coming in from outlying parts of the state to schedule meetings.

Register for Best of Colorado to attend one of the industry’s biggest networking events of the year, typically attracting around 500 attendees to enjoy an evening of great food and beverage and to salute the winners in 22 categories and the latest Hall of Fame inductees. Many industry partners are helping to make the event at The Cable Center happen, so it’s also a chance to get a glimpse of a talented pool of businesses and individuals.

The 14th annual MIC Educational Conference and Tradeshow promises to be an action-packed day of education, networking and exhibits attracting more than 950 Meetings Industry Professionals. The opening general session will look at the the hottest issues facing the meetings and events industry discussed by a panel of four experts. At lunch, hear about how Doc Hendley dreamed up the concept of Wine To Water while bartending and playing music in nightclubs around Raleigh, N.C., and now aims to help the estimated 1.1 billion people worldwide who lack access to clean water.

As always, there will be many great breakout sessions to choose from, and new for this year is the Collaboration Cafe for small group discussions on the topics of the day.
