Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms is where Colorado’s wild beauty meets timeless charm. Set on 700 acres against the Rocky Mountain foothills in Littleton, this historic homestead and working farm feels like a serene escape—yet it’s just off state Route 470 and only minutes from Denver.

Here, nature takes center stage. Carefully designed gardens showcase the best of Colorado’s landscapes: sweeping fields of lavender, native prairie grasses alive with wildflowers, shady cottonwood groves, and horticultural plantings that change with the seasons. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, hosting a corporate retreat, or planning a holiday party, every corner of Chatfield Farms offers a backdrop worth remembering.

The venue’s range of rental sites gives you freedom to match your vision. The Lavender Garden pergola, surrounded by 19 fragrant varieties of lavender and a rock garden labyrinth, is an enchanting choice for ceremonies or cocktail hours. For something more expansive, the open-air chapel provides panoramic views of Deer Creek Canyon framed by a flower garden and wooden gazebo.

The Green Farm Barn, originally built in 1918 and restored for events, blends rustic character with modern comfort. Its patio, silo, and lawn—perfect for lawn games or tented receptions—make it a favorite for weddings, dinners, and holiday gatherings. Deer Creek Stables offers a flexible indoor/outdoor experience with chandeliers, barn doors that open to the amphitheater, and a dramatic entrance to the adjacent Prairie Garden. Next door, Prairie Garden Terrace provides a 1,600-square-foot hardwood deck beneath cottonwoods sparkling with thousands of lights.

For smaller occasions, the Polly Steele Center—a cozy farmhouse built before 1900—sets the scene for bridal showers, teas, small meetings. The historic Deer Creek Schoolhouse adds charm with a fire pit and prairie setting, while the secluded yurt offers a playful space for yoga sessions, wellness retreats, or as a wedding suite add-on.

Seasonal celebrations shine here, too. If you’re planning your holiday party, consider pairing the Green Farm Barn with the Trail of Lights event, running Nov. 21 through Jan. 11, 2026. Inside, attendees enjoy warm, rustic charm. Outside, they wander through a glittering wonderland of lights, complete with new displays each year and a festive holiday market on select nights.

The Chatfield Farms team works with you to find the right package, ensuring your event is seamless and unforgettable.
