Junkyard Social Club in Boulder has significantly increased its programming and hours to offer inspiring events and an interesting community space for groups, creative adults, and adventurous families. Best described as a rebel museum and adventure playground, Junkyard Social Club quietly started building during the pandemic and until recently had operated with a mostly youthful focus, but that’s never been the whole vision.
“From day one, we set out to be a different kind of gathering space, inclusive of the whole community, and part of that is being intergenerational,” says Executive Director Jill Katzenberger. Junkyard Social Club is expanding offerings in Boulder with new offerings such as regular comedy nights, dance parties, game nights, performance art, and more.”
Located on East Pearl, Junkyard Social Club has 3,500 square feet of indoor space that includes a full-service bar and cafe, performance stage, second-floor private meeting space, climbing wall, indoor jungle gyms, reading nooks, and more. Glass garage doors provide access to an additional 6,000 square feet of outdoor space that has funky art installations, colorful murals, play structures, and swing sets all watched over by an antique airplane and 13-foot-tall junkyard giraffe.
Groups of up to 120 can be hosted indoors and 200 outdoors or book a buyout for 250 guests. Bring your own food for events, have it catered, or hire a food truck. Beer and wine are available through Junkyard Social Club, which has hosted events ranging from bar mitzvahs to Chamber of Commerce luncheons and nonprofit galas.
Rentals are available on Mondays and after 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
