Steffen Schnetzke has been hired as the new director of operations and Sherry Alexander as associate director of sales by Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, a ski-in/ski-out property at Beaver Creek Resort. Schnetzke brings over two decades of experience spanning Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, most recently as director of food and beverage and culinary operation at Park Hyatt Doha in Qatar. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Alexander’s career in hospitality covers 16 years, beginning in London at Thistle Marble Arch Hotel. She joined the Hyatt family in 2012 as a sales manager at Hyatt Regency Trinidad, where she was soon promoted to senior sales manager.
Kevin Shields is the new general manager of the 285-room Grand Hyatt Vail. Shields has held leadership positions across the country over a 30-year span, including most recently as director of hospitality and chief operations officer at All Points North Lodge in Edwards. He also was the regional general manager with Kessler Collection in Beaver Creek and Savannah, Georgia and fulfilled numerous general manager and operations roles at resorts in New York, Nevada, and Utah.
Scott Steffek has been hired for the new position of director of vibe at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon, Vail Valley. The goal of this role is to foster memorable stays through creating experiences, activations, and events that celebrate Colorado’s Rocky Mountain culture. Steffek most recently was front office manager at The Farnam Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska, and before that worked at Viceroy Snowmass for 13 years.
