• Conference Spotlight: IPW, Denver

More than 6,000 attendees representing at least 70 countries gathered in Denver from May 19-23 for the U.S. Travel Association’s IPW, the travel industry’s premier international marketplace. Denver last hosted IPW 27 years ago, and this one was particularly special since it marked the showcase’s 50th anniversary.

IPW gathers travel professionals—including U.S. destinations, hotels, attractions, sports teams and transportation companies, and international tour operators, buyers and wholesalers—to meet in one place. At this year’s event, there were 100,000 prescheduled business meetings between suppliers and buyers and more than 500 members of the media in attendance.

The event featured a collection of Colorado’s best food, beverage and talent. Live bands played while delegates mingled, and an amazing drum performance closed out the evening.

COLORFUL CRAFTED COLORADO NIGHT, Broncos Stadium at Mile High

VISIT DENVER showcased Colorado’s four distinct seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. Each season boasted the best of what it is known for, everything from line dancing and Oktoberfest to skiing and winter events. On the field were activity activations, including rock climbing, flyfishing, Native American performances and s’mores.\

Erase any vision you might have of a dude ranch, especially the “City Slicker” version. For the purposes of this story, let’s use the name ranch resort and picture a big dose of vision and thousands of acres for both herds and people to roam. It’s a fairly different option, but one with similar friendliness and the Western spirit of a dude ranch.
