Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Rosewood Sand Hill is encouraging guests to discover the region’s allure not by foot or car, but by bike! Offering the latest equipment and custom itineraries for all levels, the property’s new cycling program provides the ideal active break for any traveler or group.

“With stunning scenery and landscape surrounding the property, and travelers increasingly looking for active experiences, we thought it was perfect to offer guests a chance to explore the area by bike,” says Philip Meyer, the hotel’s managing director and resident cycling expert. “The activity not only relaxes the mind, but it gets people moving after a day in meetings and seminars. It also allows individuals a chance to bond and explore ideas without the pressure of a traditional boardroom.”

A cycling enthusiast himself, Meyer assists the hotel’s concierge team in putting together the best itineraries based on experience, preference and goals of the riders. Whether guests want to ride leisurely through Pacific Coast’s rolling hills or break a sweat in the elevations of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the experienced team is always willing to give custom recommendations. Meyer says one of his favorite routes runs through the Coastal Pescadero Loop where bikers can stop at Norm’s Market to snack on its world-famous artichoke bread. Additionally, there are several options for those looking to cruise the Northern California vineyards including a route which takes bikers along the switchback roads to the renowned Ridge Winery for a wine tasting and picnic overlooking the valley.

The luxury Rosewood Sand Hill provides personal, on-site fittings and the latest bike and gear rentals through its partnership with Velofix. After an enjoyable ride, guests are welcomed by the hotel’s 121 elegantly comfortable guestrooms, pristine Sense spa and the hotel’s Michelin Star restaurant, Madera.

Daily life has been significantly altered by COVID-19, no matter the industry. Many are working from home, while children stay inside for online schooling. Meetings and events have been hit especially hard, since the essence of the industry is face-to-face interactions. While we continue to self-isolate, plenty of organizations have been offering webinars with insights on how to handle the pandemic—watching webinars is a great way to use that extra time you might have used for your commute to learn something useful.

As the spread of the novel coronavirus continues to put immense pressure on the U.S. health care system and the people who keep it running, the American Hotel and Lodging Association is working to connect hotels with health workers who are struggling to find housing.

With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, most people are working from home. Many are social distancing or quarantining with their children, who have transitioned to online classes. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops, offices, stores and so much more have been temporarily shut down in many states, affecting daily life in the most unexpected of ways.
