Earlier this month, The Dayton’s Project unveiled the first of several installations in the Dayton’s skyways. The whole development is on schedule to open this spring and will include retail shopping and direct access to the food hall on the lower level.

While people wait for the project to be completed, they can enjoy the first installation: a mural created by Juxtaposition Arts, a visual art center established in North Minneapolis in 1995 that works to empower youth in the community and provide access to creative projects and professional design experience across the city.

“The development team behind The Dayton’s Project chose the project for its connection to Minnesota history and its opportunity to highlight all that Minneapolis has to offer,” says Erin Fitzgerald from Transwestern, the leasing broker for The Dayton’s Project. “The artistic partnership with Juxtaposition Arts is one example of the partnerships we have built and will continue to build as this building hosts the next generation of Minneapolis’ workforce and once again becomes a retail and shopping hub for the city and beyond.”

Art that depicts the creativity and character of the city of Minneapolis will continue to be on display over the coming months, and already, visitors are excited and sharing positive feedback about the art. For a fun trip out, a beautiful photo background, a look at some local art, or all of the above, check out Dayton’s Skyways and the Juxtaposition Arts’ mural.
